Bathrooms and laundries for the Pilahuaico Community

Today Ayuda Directa has completed 25 new bathrooms and 10 laundries for the families of the Pilahuaico village, Canton Colta, province of Chimborazo. So far 224 bathrooms have been built by our organization in Esperanza and nearby villages.

This project, whose cost is now close to 30.000 dollars, was partly funded by the income of the “5 per mille”*, received in November 2014.

The construction work was carried out by 5 local masons together with the help of the local people.

The objective of this project is to improve the sanitary conditions and the health of the people.

*The ”5 per mille” represents a little share (0.5%) of the taxes that are paid by the Italian taxpayers which can be donated to social organizations such as Ayuda Directa.
